At yesterdays meeting of the Strategic Planning Committee, Cornwall Councillors voted by five-to-four to refuse planning permission for a 61-hectare solar farm at Trerice. The reason for refusal was the impact on landscape character and the unacceptable further industrialisation of St Dennis Parish. The Parish Council was represented by Cllr Julia Clarke and Cornwall Councillor Dick Cole also represented local views at the meeting.

It is known that Statkraft will be appealing the decision to central government’s Planning Inspectorate.
