Education Bursary Scheme Community Representative

St Dennis

30/06/2026

The St Dennis Education Bursary Scheme is looking for a representative of the local community to join the committee.

As a committee member you will help in deciding how funds are allocated to help support local individuals pursue their education journey.

Experience in education, training or bursaries would be advantageous but is by no means essential. What is far more important is the desire to help support your community and the ability to act with fairness and integrity.

As a committee member you will be asked to attend Education Bursary Committee meetings (min 4 per year), review bursary applications and assist with the promoting of the scheme.

The scheme is open to anyone living in the area of benefit which covers Trelion, Step-a-side, Hill Head, Trethosa Village, Little Treviscoe, Central Treviscoe, Nanpean, Old Pound, Rosevear Park, Enniscaven, Gothers, Trerice Terrace and all of St Dennis. The grants are not means tested and can be applied for any qualifying educational need with no upper age limit. The scheme has helped primary school children with additional needs, secondary school pupils, college and university students, apprentices and professionals seeking career development plus a range of adult learners. The scheme provides funding for laptops, printers, software, specialist equipment, travel expenses, books, course fees, childcare, accommodation and more!

If you are interested in joining the committee or would just like to find out more about the role, please email clerk@stdennisparishcouncil.gov.uk or call 01726 821700
