Dispose of Vapes Safely

Vapes contain hidden lithium batteries that can cause serious fires if they are thrown into general waste or recycling bins. When crushed in collection lorries or at waste processing sites, these batteries can ignite, putting crews, vehicles and facilities at risk.

Vapes should never be placed in your household bin.

Instead, please dispose of them safely by:

• Using the dedicated vape collection boxes at all Household Waste and Recycling Centre's in Cornwall.

• Returning used vapes to larger shops that sell them, as many offer take-back services.

• Using the local disposal point at Queens Garage, Indian Queens, St Columb Major.
